Dorothy Arlene Carter Howard

August 11, 1942 - July 1, 2019

Age 76, of Warsaw, passed away on July 1, 2019 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born August 11, 1942 in Warsaw, daughter of the late Frederick and Kathryn Pflaum Carter. Dorothy was the office manager for Ken’s Tree Service for many years and was a former member of the Wyoming County Bicentennial Singers. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her family, working in her garden and feeding her hummingbirds. Dorothy and her significant other, Ken Murtha enjoyed attending races at Perry Raceway, going to tractor pulls and Friday night fish fries at the Charcoal Corral.

Surviving are her significant other, Kenneth Murtha; her children, Suzenne (Kevin) Miller, Brian (Jennifer) Howard, Katrina (Kevin) Riley, Nichole Murtha; her grandchildren, Christopher, Kathryn and Grace Miller; Lauren, Emily and Taylor Howard and Connor Riley; her siblings, Rick (Debra) Tiede and Gail Richardson; sister-in-law, Roberta Carter. She was the sister of the late Gerald “Red” Carter.

Dorothy’s memorial service will be held Sunday, July 14 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wyoming, 28 Main St., Wyoming followed by a period of visitation until 4:30 PM at the church. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240 or Animal Friends at Wyoming County Animal Shelter, 4380 Route 19, Silver Springs, NY 14550.
