Age 57, of Ribaud Avenue, Silver Springs, NY, died on August 17, 2011 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born July 6, 1954 in Rochester, NY, son of the late John Broman and Kay Cole Broman of Silver Springs. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Vietnam War. Bill was employed as a cook for the New York State Department of Corrections at Attica Correctional Facility and then at Groveland Correctional Facility prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Wyoming County Veterans Club in Warsaw and the Hunt-Stout American Legion Post in Lamont. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of the greatest joys of Bill’s life.
Surviving along with his mother are his wife of 27 years, Myra Kelso Broman whom he married on July 6, 1984; his children, Vance Baker of Pavilion, Billie Jo Broman of Perry, Thaddeus Broman of Silver Springs; his grandchildren, Brett Baker and Sylvia Vickers; several brothers and sisters; his godchild, Steven Daniels; many nieces, nephews and cousins and his good friend, Mike Kitt, Sr. He was the brother of the late Kathy Kirby and Donna Daniels.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 1 PM at Hunt-Stout American Legion Post, Lamont. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John J. Audubon Pkwy., Amherst, NY 14228-1198 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are being completed by Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw.
