Wilbert F. “Red” Johnson

June 18, 1924 - December 25, 2010

Age 86, of Federal Rd., Pavilion, was reborn on Christmas Day 2010 into a new life with Jesus. He died at the Batavia Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was born June 18, 1924 in Batavia, son of the late Freeman and Elvie Ernsberger Johnson. He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served during World War II. Red was employed for many years as a truck driver for the A.R. Gundry Co. He was an avid flower gardener and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Batavia.

Mr. Johnson was predeceased by his first wife, Mary.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Monterone Johnson; his sons, Bayne (Carol) Johnson of Perry, Raymond (Yvonne) Johnson of Rochester; his daughter, Carrie (Alan) Baker of Caledonia; his sister, Leila Sherman of Stafford; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at St. Francis Cemetery in LeRoy at a date to be announced in the spring. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Carol Johnson, 6276 Lemley Rd., Wyoming, NY 14591. Arrangements are being completed by Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw.
