Age 88, a long time resident of Warsaw, died September 8, 2009 at the Wyoming Co. Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
He was born March 15, 1921 in Sheldon, NY, son of the late Julius and Grace Ames Kibler. Warren was a graduate of Attica Central School and served with the US Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was attached to the 81st Engineers Division from 1944-46.
In 1953, Warren was one of the first employees hired by Mallory Timers Co. in Warsaw. He was employed by Mallory for over 30 years and retired as Chief of the Manufacturing Engineering Department.
Mr. Kibler was a member of the Walter Klein Post American Legion in Warsaw, Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post, Warsaw, Wyoming County Veterans Club, Loyal Order of the Moose #560, Warsaw, Wyoming Valley Antique Car Club and was a long time member of the Warsaw Fire Department. His other interests were collecting antique model trains and toys. Warren will also be remembered for his life long passion for playing the banjo and fiddle in the country western band the Wyoming Rangers.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Thelma Parmerter Kibler, whom he married on May 9, 1942; his sons, Larry (Sue) Kibler of St. Cloud, FL, Brian (Wendy) Kibler of Mt. Morris, Gary (Carol) Kibler of Alamogordo, NM; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harold (Helen) Kibler.
Friends may call Friday 10 AM – 1 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where a veterans service will be held at 1 PM followed by his funeral service. Burial will be in Johnsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221.
