Walter E. Williams

June 20, 1931 - September 13, 2016

Age 85, formerly of Warsaw, NY and Lakeland, FL, died September 13, 2016 in Dallas, TX.

He was born June 20, 1931 in Bliss, NY, son of the late Walter H. and Jessie Wilcox Williams. Walt was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He worked for many years for the Western Auto Store in Warsaw.

Walt was a long time member of the Walter Klein Post American Legion in Warsaw as well as the Wyoming County Veterans Club. In earlier years, he played baseball for the former Warsaw Town Team and was active in Little League baseball. He was a former member of the Warsaw Fire Department and the Warsaw Kiwanis Club. Walt was also an avid golfer.

Surviving are his children, Scott (Niki) Williams of Dallas, TX, Wendy Lee (Barry) Reding of Gainesville, NY; grandchildren, Christopher (Jenn) Reding and Renee (Gregory) Podsiadlo; five great grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Sharon) Williams of Austin, TX. He was the brother of the late Evelyn Wilcox.

There are no calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Warsaw Cemetery. Local arrangements are being completed by Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw.
