Sharon A. Kelly

January 28, 1951 - March 1, 2017

Devoted and loved wife, mother, sister and friend passed on March 1, 2017, peacefully in her sleep at home in Warsaw, NY at the age of 66.

She was born January 28, 1951 in Syracuse, NY daughter of the late William and Jane (Kearney) Erwin. Sharon touched the lives of many. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Buffalo State University, and as an educator, oversaw and managed the Warsaw Co Op Nursery school for many treasured years. She will also be remembered for the kindness and professionalism she exhibited while she worked with her husband, Michael, and later her son, Devon, at the family law practice, Kelly & Kelly, for twenty years prior to her retirement.

Sharon shared her gifts and talents with others in many ways. She was an active member of St. Michael’s and St. Mary’s Churches in Warsaw and Silver Springs, where she volunteered in various ways, including with the religious education program. She was also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Warsaw Public Library and she and her husband, Michael were very active in the Retrouvaille marriage counseling program through the Diocese of Buffalo.

Sharon loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, reading, music, her dogs and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Michael J. Kelly; her children, Tara (Brian) Joyce of Boston, MA, Liam (Elizabeth) Kelly of Miami, FL, Caitlin (Sameer) Agrawal of Chicago, IL, Devon (Pilar McKay) Kelly of Perry; her grandchildren, Rory Joyce, Orlaith Joyce, Ciaran Kelly, Giselle Kelly, Aidan Agrawal and Nora Agrawal; her siblings, Barbara (Robert) Blount of Syracuse, Robert (Nancy) Erwin of Syracuse, Joan (Daniel) Romagnoli of Syracuse, Marilyn Vrabel of Syracuse, David (Lorraine) Erwin of Syracuse, Nancy Erwin of Denver, CO, Thomas (Catherine) Erwin of Syracuse and her stepbrothers, William Thompson of Washington, DC, Edward “Ted” Thompson of Brooklyn; as well as beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends may formally call Monday, March 6 from 4 – 7 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Sharon’s funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 7 at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church, Warsaw. Memorials may be made to the Arts Council for Wyoming County, 31 S.
