Mar 25.10 from For Her Children:
“Rose Balbick”

Last year one day on summer mornings chance
I heard a soft night song from a shy quiet shadow
And butterfly wings sparkling in fierce eyes
Fierce in friendship, I could feel the intent
That I would misjudge this soul calling it a shadow
Watching the sunrise which clears the mist off the eyes
Would this world be surprised
At the fire and smile emerging.

Stretching time is a window of truth
And If everyone knew what the nearest to this heart knew
Out of the shadow of my first sight
Into a friendship and concern in her brilliant life
They would rejoice at the return of each memory
Know her lasting touch of happiness which meant so much
To her and the strength in how she lived, her only wish
Was to love and in our love she will be missed.

Condolences and our warm sympathy,

J PreFontaine and Paula Belles
