Rose M. Standish

September 6, 1925 - August 7, 2018

Age 92, of Warsaw, passed away on August 7, 2018 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born September 6, 1925 in Wethersfield, NY daughter of the late Eugene and Anna Decker Courtox. In earlier years, Rose was employed at the former Embury Lantern Company in Warsaw. Rose and her late husband, Bernard owned and operated the Warsaw Speed Wash for over thirty-five years. She enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques and square dancing with her husband. Rose was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Bernard who died May 13, 2012 and her son, John C. Standish who died in 1984.
Surviving are her children, Ann (Francis) Perreault of Red Lake Falls, Minn., Bernard M. “Mike” Standish of Hendersonville, NC, Eugene (Lori) Standish of Warsaw, James Standish of Warsaw; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Louie Courtox, Belle Ackerman, Mary Prince, Ruth Howard, Martha Morse, Edna Rosborough, Hellen Mower and Eugenie Park.

Services will be private. The family invites friends for a celebration of Rose’s life on Monday, August 13 at 2 PM at the home of Gene and Lori Standish at 60 West Court St., Warsaw. Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Church, 171 N. Main St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
