Age 9, of Highland Ave., Silver Springs, NY, died November 28, 2011 in Sheldon, NY as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
She was born May 1, 2002 in Warsaw, daughter of Jeramie Helmer and Tonya Bliss Helmer. She was a fourth grade student at Letchworth Central School and was active in cheerleading with the Genesee Valley Bills. Riley loved dancing and music and was a student at Images in Dance in Perry. She played softball and soccer was a reading mentor and was active in the YMCA program at Letchworth Central School. She enjoyed reading and writing, four wheeling and being outdoors. Riley loved spending time with her friends and family and was a giving and unselfish girl; always concerned with the feelings and needs of others.
Surviving are her mother, Tonya Bliss Helmer of Silver Springs, her father, Jeramie (Cheryl Kraft) Helmer of West Seneca; her siblings, Bryce Helmer, Carson Gernegliaro and Madelyn Helmer; her maternal great grandparents, Norm and June Bliss of Bliss, NY; her maternal grandfather, Rick (Tina Mole) Bliss of Bliss, NY; her maternal grandmother, JoAnn (Kirby Kox) Bliss of Castile; her paternal grandmother, Susan (the late Steven) Helmer of Castile; her aunts and uncles, Chad (Coreen) Bliss of Castile, Pamela Helmer of Castile and Josh Helmer of Castile, Brandon Mole; several great aunts and uncles and cousins.
Friends may call Friday 1 – 4 & 6 – 9 at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Services will be private. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Riley Helmer Memorial Fund, 50 N. Main St., Castile, NY 14427.
