Age 85, of Wyoming St., Warsaw, died December 23, 2009 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
He was born October 6, 1924 in Orchard Park, NY, son of the late Albert J. and Gertrude Hibsch Petre. He worked for many years with the ground crew of American Airlines in Buffalo prior to his retirement in 1980. He was an antique automobile enthusiast and enjoyed watching golf and smoking his pipe. Mr. Petre was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw and was an usher at the church for many years.
Surviving are his brothers, George A. Petre of Canada and Florida, L. Howard (Jean) Petre of Varysburg; his sister, Mary Lou Petre of Warsaw; several nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Petre, Albert Petre and Joann Sanderson.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 28 at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
