Paul L. “Luke” Burrows

November 5, 1948 - September 30, 2016


Age 67, of Warsaw, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital.

Paul “Luke” was born November 5, 1948 son of the late Paul A. Burrows and Beulah Waite Burrows. Luke served in the United States Marine Corps for four years during the Vietnam War as a Combat Engineer. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a water well driller for many years prior to working as a welding fabricator and retiring from Hanson Aggregates, (formerly B.R. DeWitt’s), in Pavilion, NY.

Luke enjoyed sharing and relaxing at the family owned “Pike Island” one of the Thousand Islands in the St. Lawrence River. He took pleasure in fishing, boating, swimming and water skiing with many family and friends. He was a long time member of the Wyoming County Veterans Club in Warsaw. In later years, he enjoyed playing cards, the lottery and the comradery with military family and friends.

Luke was preceded in death by his longtime companion Betty Palmer, his parents, brother-in-laws, Douglas Ernst and Albert Lyons.

He is survived by three sons, Lance (Josep Piulats) of Osaka, Japan, Leonard (Kristi Cetrulo) of Santa Barbara, CA and Larry and Tawnee (Flint) of Stephenville, TX; four grandchildren, Dylan, Kelsie, Olivia and Katie; extended family of Betty Palmer’s daughter, Katherine A. Dumpert Collette, Betty’s son, James W. Dumpert and Katherine’s children. He is also survived by his sister and close friend, Ellen Lyons of LeRoy and his favorite nephew, Jason Ernst of Stafford.

Friends may call Saturday, October 8 from 10 – 11 AM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Luke’s military honors will be offered at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wyoming County Veterans Club, 245 W. Buffalo St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
