Onalee I. Sweet

September 29, 1926 - June 19, 2010

Age 83, of Miller Rd., Warsaw, died June 19, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.

She was born September 29, 1926 in Batavia, daughter of the late Francis and Elgie Brotherton Irwin. She was employed for many years as an assembly worker at the former Mallory Timers Co. in Warsaw. She retired in 1982. Mrs. Sweet was a long time active member of the North Gainesville United Methodist Church and served as secretary of the church for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and was an avid bowler. She also served as secretary of her bowling league at the former Valley View Lanes for many years. Onalee enjoyed playing bingo and traveling with her friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer “Skeet” Sweet who died in 1993.

Surviving are her sons, James F. (Christine) Sweet of Warsaw, Gary L. (Debora) Sweet of Warsaw; her grandchildren, Sonia Schillaci, Jessica (Shawn) McGuire, Heather (Doug) Robbins, Torrey (Jenn) Sweet; seven great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley (Don) Harris of York; her godson, Ron Harris; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Don Irwin and Merle Irwin.

Friends may call Friday, June 25 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where a service will be held Saturday, June 26 at 1 PM. I am so sorry to hear of Onalees passing. I bowled with her for many years. In both State and National Tournaments. She was always a lot of fun and loved her dearly. She always hated going over looong bridges.

She will be sadly missed.
