Norman E. Walters

September 18, 1937 - August 1, 2017

Age 79, of Castile, passed away on August 1, 2017 at his home under the care of his loving family and hospice.

He was born September 18, 1937 in Buffalo, NY son of the late Frank and Catherine Roof Walters. Norman was employed for over twenty-four years as a mechanical engineer for the Cooper Cameron Company in Cheektowaga. He enjoyed bowling for many years and was a member of the United States Bowling Congress. In earlier years, he coached Little League baseball with the Maryvale Youth Baseball Association and he enjoyed ice skating and roller skating. In recent years, Norman served three years as an assistant modified baseball coach at Perry Central School. He loved boating and fishing on Silver Lake. Norman was a devoted family man who always enjoyed his time spent with family.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Patricia Sheridan Walters; his children, Fred (Linda) Walters of Perry, James Walters of Grand Island, Dianne Walters of Depew; grandchildren, Misty Walters, Jennifer Walters, Matthew Walters, Tiffany Walters, Jimmy Walters, Ashley Walters, Jessica Walters and Heather Gerken; great grandchild, Laya Davis. He was grandfather of the late Frankie Walters and great grandchild, Richard Davis III.

Friends may call Friday, August 4 from 5 – 8 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Norman’s funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 8 PM. Private burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Perry. A memorial celebration of Norman’s life will be held Saturday, August 5 at 12:30 PM at the Perry VFW, Perry, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 450 N. Main St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
