Thanks grandpa for being the best role model a grandson can look up to, I wish that I could have been around you more than I was, miss the days of when you were planting and me and Ben were riding on the John Deere 3020 planting or over at Jim and Nancy's boiling sap. Grandpa you were a man of great knowledge and honor and iI am proud to be a part of this family. May you and granny forever rest in peace. Love your grandson Matthew

Feb 6.11 from Nancy Herman:
It's been a week since Dad left us and what a week. We had fun sharing many good memories and sad moments too. Thanks to all of my family for making these days ones will always remember. The service was a great honor to a well deserved man. Dad will always live on as we all have some of his "good" habits. I am so glad I was able to spend many hours with him the past few years. Dad, I will miss our visits.

Dear Family, We are sad to hear of your Dad's passing. My Mom and Dad spoke of him last night and as always it was how he was dear mand and a hard worker. Farming was his life. Your Mom and Dad has their job finished here and now can be joined together. His memory will live forever in your minds and hearts. You never forget the ones you love. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I can see your Dad smiling all the way to heaven. God bless.

Jan 31.11 from Dean Smith:
Memories of dad that I will not forget are some of his sayings. When we were working he would always say many hands make light work maybe that explains why he had nine kids. Another was if we didn't like what mom made for dinner he would say beats nothing all to hell. I have been blessed to have him as my dad. I dreamed of being a farmer and with dad's help those dreams came true. Dad you were the best. I love you and will miss you but the memories that where made will never fade. You and mom are getting the rest you both deserve. Thanks Dad and Mom.

Jan 31.11 from Linda Carmody:
Dear Nancy and Family,
So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Like my parents, yours are now together and are once again so happy. Please know I am thinking of you all. How fortunate we both were to have our parents for as long as we did...truly a blessing.

Jan 31.11 from Roger Nevinger:
Uncle Norman made quite an impression on me. As a boy I remember his sun baked skin from long hot days working in the fields on his farm. Norman and Lucille and all my cousins coming out of the church on Sunday. His saying grace at the big table where our families gathered. He was a man for all seasons. What a privilege to have had him for my uncle.

Jan 31.11 from Karen Fox:
My thoughts and condolences go out to all the Smiths and all of Norman's friends and associates - there are many! He was such a wonderful man..a hardworking man who loved his family, loved his farm and loved his God.
What a wonderful legacy he and Lucille created. I'm so glad to have known him, and will always remember his wonderful smile and ggentle, caring nature. He will be remembered often and fondly for so many reasons.

Jan 31.11 from Bob Cummins:
Norm is one of the finest men I have ever known. His love for his family, for his community, and for his country have been an inspiration to me. He had a passion for farming that is seldom seen in any vocation. He will be missed.

Jan 30.11 from Martin Smith:
I have learned alot from my dad.Mostly all were good things, work hard and find pleasure in simple things also.I've learned to build, tear down ,and rebuild. We may have not been rich but, there always food in our bellies and clothes on our backs and enough work to go around. You have seen more in anyones life time.So many changes. You had a good family and a good life. But,now you can rest.

Jan 30.11 from Doug Kelly:
Norm, I don't know if cars are allowed in Heaven, So, better go in a Model T ! Doug K.

Jan 30.11 from Kay Smith:
Dad, I have so many traits that are like you and often when I am doing things I stop myself and think, oh, wait that's just like Dad.(Stormin Norman). My friends often call me Storma when I am working on something. I learned from you that I can do most anything if I put my mind to it. From you I got that a long day of hard work is satisfying. It pleased me that you were proud that I was a nurse. I wish I could have made it easier for you at the end. I feel privileged to have been able to be there with you in those difficult days. I close my eyes now and see you and Mom hand in hand together, forever and looking down and saying.... well done.

Jan 30.11 from Dutch & Nancy Meeder:
Our prayers are with you at this difficult time. Sorry we can't be there in person but we send our sympathy to you all. So many good memories of a good neighbor and friend.
