Marjorie Gillespie Yarrington

November 28, 1926 - August 29, 2016

Age 89, of Oatka Street, Warsaw died Monday, August 29, 2016 at her home.

She was born November 28, 1926 in Warsaw a daughter of the late William and Emily Rix Woolley Gillespie.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warsaw for thirty-six years where she was a member of the choir, choir director, served on boards, taught Sunday School and was a youth group leader and involved with the Pioneer Girls. During the last thirty years, she was a member of the United Church of Warsaw. She served where needed, was a member of the church choir and the Women’s Guild.

She helped her husband for twenty-five years with his Dick’s TV Store, was active in Warsaw’s Monday Club, Garden Club and the Red Hats.

She was a loving wife, loving, encouraging mother, loving supportive grandmother, strong woman of faith with head and heart knowledge of her personal relationship with her redeemer, Jesus Christ.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Winston) Doore of Attica; son, James R. (Margaret) Yarrington of Rochester, five grandchildren, Pamela Doore of Attica, Daniel (Susan) Doore of Stanley, Charles Yarrington of Rochester, Graham Yarrington of New York City, Julia Yarrington of Washington, DC, great grandson, Thomas Doore and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband of sixty-two years, Richard H. Yarrington, her parents and her brother Donald Woolley.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26 at 2 PM at the United Church of Warsaw, (cor. S. Main & E. Buffalo Sts.), Warsaw. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Warsaw Scholarship Fund, 22 S. Main St., Warsaw, NY 14569 and Warsaw Public Library, DVD fund, 130 N. Main St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
