Marian E. Stephens

April 26, 1919 - July 17, 2011

Age 92, a resident of East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Silver Springs, died July 17, 2011 at Wyoming County Community Hospital.

She was born April 26, 1919 in Wethersfield, daughter of the late Frank and Ellen Metcalf Hinrich.  In earlier years Marian worked at Morton Salt and later worked for many years as a nurses aid at East Side Nursing Home and King Manor and also worked for several years as a private duty nurse.  She was a past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Castile, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Silver Springs.

Marian was predeceased by her husband, Paul H. Stephens who died in 1971

Surviving is her son Roger E. (Jane) Stephens of Silver Springs; her grandchildren, Roger E. Stephens of Gatineau, Quebec, Wade T. Stephens of Silver Springs, Michael R. Stephens of Rochester; her great grandchildren, Jordan T. Stephens, Nathan R. Stephens, Audrey Anne Stephens; her special nieces Marian K. Wilcox and Scharmayne Clark of Silver Springs; and many nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Lela Helser, Dorothy Smith, Frances Baglio, Olive Surtel, Evelyn Lucille Wilcox and Clarence Hinrich.

There are no calling hours.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 23 at 1 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Silver Springs.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorials may be made to the Silver Springs Rescue Squad or the Town of Gainsville Public Library.
