Age 96, of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, formerly of Castile, New York, died on January 19, 2010.
She was born in Allen, New York on July 23, 1913 to the late Edward and Emma Harwood Hotchkiss, 1 of 11 children. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Rev. Ralph R. Howe.
Marguerite played guitar and harmonica in the Hotchkiss Family Orchestra; played violin in the Castile High School Orchestra; and enjoyed playing piano at home. She was involved in many church activities and traveled with her husband in his evangelistic ministry. She enjoyed her home and family; plants; flowers; sewing; and knitting and crocheting gifts for family and friends. She was a member of the Kanisteo Chapter of the DAR.
She is survived by her 4 loving daughters: Kay (Richard – deceased) Webb of West Deptford, New Jersey; Fay (Lawrence) Hoyt of Canisteo, New York; Darlene (Daniel) Pratt-Stalnecker of Sewickley, Pennsylvania; and Nita (Ronald) Campbell of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
You may visit with her family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 prior to her memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main Street, Castile, New York. Burial will be at the Hunts Hollow Cemetery, Hunt, New York.
