Lucille M. Carlson

May 3, 1929 - November 18, 2016

Age 87, of Wyoming, NY passed away peacefully on November 18, 2016 at the East Side Nursing Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

She was born May 3, 1929 in Wyoming, NY daughter of the late John and Mary King Strathearn. Lucille was a graduate of Wyoming High School and the Rochester Business Institute. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the former Handyside’s Hardware Store in Wyoming and then for many years, she served as the office manager for the Wyoming County Farm Bureau.

Lucille was a long time member of the United Church of Warsaw and the United Church Women’s Guild. She was a member of the Home Bureau, the Farm Bureau Women’s Group and the Kitchen Konference. Lucille was a former member of the Warsaw Central School Board of Education.

She enjoyed gardening, country painting, baking and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-nine years, Clayton Carlson, whom she married on November 15, 1947; her children, Mary (Bruce Strathearn) Carlson of Wyoming, Roger (Debbie Anstett) Carlson of Alden, Larry (Ruth) Carlson of Middlebury, IN, Kevin (Gwen) Carlson of Wyoming; daughter in law, Kathleen Carlson of Springville; grandchildren, Ryan (Jenn) Carlson, Rachel Carlson, Jennifer (Brandon) Jenkins, Megan Grawe, Darcy (Steve) Ebersol, Laura (Tony) Chapman, Neil Carlson, Ross Carlson, Emily Carlson, Sarah Carlson; great grandchildren, Ethan Grawe, Peyton Grawe, Cooper Carlson, Cal Carlson, Kennedy Jenkins, Jackson Jenkins, Rudy Chapman, Lucille Chapman; her brothers, Edward (Sue) Strathearn of Wyoming, Albert (Betty) Strathearn of Wyoming; many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. She was the sister of the late Harold (Violet) Strathearn, Leigh (Eleanor) Strathearn, Bernice (Elwin) Brayley, Verna (William) Luengen.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 22 from 3 – 7 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Lucille’s funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23 at 2 PM at the United Church of Warsaw (cor. S. Main & E. Buffalo Sts.), Warsaw. Private burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the East Side Activities Fund, 62 Prospect St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
