Dec 17.11 from Barb Burke:
To Linda, Debbie and all of Lea's loving family, please accept our deepest sympathy. When I heard the news today, I could actually feel my heart ache. Your mom was a true heroine: courageous and resilient in the face of terrible tragedies and loss throughout her life; a unique person who could find a way to relate to everyone. Always fun-loving, hard working and beautiful (inside and out), she set an example and standard few people can match. My parents adored her, and admired her fortitude and energy; I'll always remember her as a very pretty lady with a ready smile and that very special sparkle. We are so very sorry for your profound loss. Her devotion and love of her family is present in you and she has left an amazing legacy that many treasure and deeply admire. Please know that we send our love and prayers. How privileged we were to have known her.

Lea was an integral part of growing up on Whiton Ave. Onion chips, cherry cokes and pinball were just a few minutes away. Later, while stationed in Germany Lea and your family welcomed me in Frankfurt during Christmas holidays. Seeing people from home really lifted my spirits. I'll never forget it. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
