Lawrence N. “Larry” Putnam

May 10, 1926 - July 21, 2018

Age 92, of Warsaw, passed away on July 21, 2018 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born May 10, 1926 in Batavia, NY son of the late Floyd and Ethel Noakes Putnam. Larry owned and operated Larry Putnam Well Drilling in Warsaw for many years. He also still resided independently in the home he built in 1960 where he and his late wife, Lois spent many years raising their family.

Larry was an avid bowler and bowled in the local men’s league for many years. He and Lois were members of the Roamin Wyomins camping group. He enjoyed his travels to casinos with family and friends and was a member of the Wyoming County Veterans Club. Larry was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Larry was predeceased by his wife, Lois who died in 2014; his daughter, Jill Traynor and his son, Randy Putnam.

Surviving are his children, Kathleen Putnam of Warsaw, Bobbi Smith of Warsaw, Becky Triaga of Kissimmee, Fla., Allen Putnam of West Lafayette, Ind.; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lorraine Dunham, Irene Bater and Avis Weinert.

Friends may call Friday, July 27 from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Larry’s funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 12 PM. Private burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warsaw Rescue Squad, PO Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569 or National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or Alzheimer’s Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Williamsville, NY 14221.
