Age 77, of Washington St., Warsaw, died February 26, 2010 at Rochester General Hospital.
He was born October 25, 1932 in Batavia, NY, son of the late Carlton and Dorothy Fetzer Lapp. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Mr. Lapp was employed as a telephone repair technician with Rochester Telephone Co. and Frontier for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Walter Klein Post American Legion in Warsaw.
John was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating and tinkering. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Lapp was a NASCAR and football fan and he enjoyed country music and attending country music shows in Wheeling, WV.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Jacquelyn Whalen Lapp; his son, John (Joy) Lapp, Jr. of Warsaw; his daughter, Julie (Rich) Yunker of Warsaw; his grandchildren, Jolynn Yunker, Jennifer Lapp, Jaclyn Yunker and Justin Yunker.
There are no calling hours. A service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11 AM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Warsaw.
