Age 80, of Camp Road, Silver Lake, NY, died peacefully at home under the care of her loving family and hospice following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 16, 1929 in Billsboro, NY, daughter of the late Charles and Huldah Mallory Sinclair. She was employed for 12 years as the postmaster at the Silver Lake Post Office prior to her retirement in 1977. Jane was an accomplished painter and was one of the founding members of the Sea Serpent Art Guild located at the Hoag Art Gallery at Silver Lake Institute. Mrs. Murphy was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Murphy, Sr.
Surviving are her sons, Robert W. (Susan Lucia) Murphy, Jr. of Silver Lake, Michael J. Murphy of Silver Lake; her daughter, Huldah (Troy W.) Murphy Jones of Waskom, TX; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. She was the grandmother of the late Shane Aubrey Murphy.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the Wyoming County Pioneer Association, Walker Rd., Silver Lake. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Wyoming County Pioneer Association, PO Box 1, Silver Lake, NY 14549. Arrangements are being completed by Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw.
