Age 90, of S. Main St., Silver Springs, NY, formerly a long time resident of Castile, died May 8, 2009 at home.
He was born May 5, 1919 in Marshfield, Oregon, son of the late Herbert E. and Anna Tuttle Darling. He was employed for many years as a custodian at the former Robeson Cutlery Co. in Castile. He had been a member of the Grace Bible Baptist Church in Wiscoy and also attended the Rock Glen Baptist Church. Mr. Darling was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army. He was a member of the Perry Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5009. He was predeceased by his wife, Norma in 1994.
Surviving are his daughter, Dee (John) Freiman of Canyon Lake, CA; his son, Donald (Nancy) Darling of Castile; his granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Darling; his brother, Ralph (Adelaide) Darling of San Antonio, TX; his brother-in-law, Gerald (the late Melva) Luckey of Short Tract; his sister-in-law, Lucille Webb of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
