Age 75, of Route 39, Pike, NY, died February 3, 2010 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born July 23, 1934 in Buffalo, NY, son of the late Andrew and Mary Melnick Popovice. He was employed for many years as an auto worker at General Motors Co. in Tonawanda. Mr. Popovice was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed Western movies, Western music and clothing.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Janet Morse Popovice, whom he married May 3, 1953; his sons, Gary (Diane) Popovice of Palmetto, FL, Tim (Patty) Popovice of North Tonawanda, Greg (Shelly) Popovice of Perry; his daughters, Barb (Derrick) Woods of Virginia, Mary Lou (Scott) Guenot of North Tonawanda, Andrea (Ken) Musone of Amherst, Kathy (Tim) Mikos of North Tonawanda; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; his sister, Sue (Jack) Scott of Lockport; his sister-in-law, Virginia Mongeon of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jeanne Marie Popovice and brother-in-law of the late Al Smith and Dick Morse.
Friends may call Sunday, February 7 from 12 - 2 pm at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. Services will be private. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, North Tonawanda.
