George E. Hively, Sr.

July 17, 1914 - August 23, 2010

Age 96, of South Main St., Warsaw, died August 23, 2010 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

He was born July 17, 1914 in Canton, OH, son of the late Ross and Jessie Aungst Hively. Mr. Hively was employed as a truck driver for many years and then as an assembly mechanic for the former Trojan Company in Batavia for 22 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. George was a wonderful storyteller and enjoyed traveling.

He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma Buncy Hively who died in 2000.

Surviving are his sons, George E. (Wilma) Hively, Jr. of LeRoy, David R. Hively of Prattsburg; his daughters, Patricia A. (Paul) Campbell of Gainesville, Catherine L. (Roger) Baker of Warsaw; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Paul Campbell and brother of the late Dorothy Krasowski.

Friends may call Thursday 4 – 7 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where a service will be held immediately following calling hours at 7 PM. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
