Eleanor H. VanTyne

April 16, 1921 - August 29, 2011

Age 90, of Liberty St., Warsaw died August 29, 2011 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born April 16, 1921 in Warsaw, daughter of the late William and Ada Winter Halstead. She was a graduate of Batavia High School and in earlier years worked as a legal secretary in Batavia. She worked for many years at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw in the cafeteria and the activities department. Eleanor also owned and operated VanTyne Plumbing with her husband for many years. She was a long time member of the United Church of Warsaw.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Ralph VanTyne; her son, Donald VanTyne of Rochester; her daughter, Linda (Bruce) James of Warsaw; her grandchildren, Robert VanTyne, Jennifer VanTyne, Michael VanTyne, Laura James and Kelsey James; her sisters-in-law, Esther Halstead of Reno, NV and Mary Halstead of Nipoma, CA; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday 7 – 9 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where a service will be held Friday at 11 AM. Burial will be in Leicester Cemetery, Leicester. Memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 550 E. Main St., Batavia, NY 14020 or Warsaw Rescue Squad, PO Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569.

So sorry to hear of Eleanor's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. The grief will pass in time, but thankfully we still have our memories. Ralph will gone a year on Sept. 17th and I think of him daily. God Bless
