Jan 31.11 from Marcia & Gary Maines:
John and Susan,
Your Mom was the Best school teacher. I had once told Miss Everett, that all elementary school teachers should be like Mrs. Shonk. Kind, knowledgable, caring, like a good 'mother'. And always with the greatest gift: to be able to laugh. We will remember her as beautiful, caring, and fun loving.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Jan 31.11 from Kathy Watson:
I was in Miss Scholes' fourth grade class the first year that she taught in Perry. I always remember how kind and caring she was. She was one of the people who inspired me to go on to be a teacher. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
