Age 75, of N. Main St., Warsaw, died January 19, 2011 at Buffalo General Hospital.
He was born December 28, 1935 in Chateaugay, NY, son of the late Felix and Clara St. Amore Tavernier. Mr. Tavernier was employed for several years as a heavy equipment operator for the State of New York. He also worked at East Side Nursing Home for several years. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Arlene Thomas Basch Tavernier; his daughters, Jeanette Wetmore of Wyoming, Paulette (James) Nelson of Bliss; his sons, Wayne Tavernier of Perry, Scott (Kathy) Tavernier of Perry; his stepson, Ronald (Margaret) Basch of Germany; his sisters, Theresa (John) Crawford of Warsaw, Rhada Beyers of North Tonawanda, Phyllis (James) East of Berlin, MD; his brothers, Daniel (Pat) Tavernier of East Aurora, Donald (Joan) Tavernier of Fillmore; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Howard Tavernier, Robert Tavernier, Rupert Tavernier, Marion Ricor and Irma Schneckenburger.
Friends may call Saturday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where a service will be held Sunday at 2 PM. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.
