Edward E. “Pops” Sundt

March 25, 1923 - July 27, 2017

Age 94, of Hermitage, passed away on July 27, 2017 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

He was born March 25, 1923 in Rochester, NY son of the late Edward and Helen Serguson Sundt. He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served during World War II. Ed was a tool and die maker who operated Genesee Manufacturing in Rochester for over twenty years. He worked for several years with the Town of Orangeville Highway Department including four years as Highway Superintendent. He worked in the maintenance department at the Wyoming County Courthouse and prior to his retirement, worked for fifteen years at WalMart in Warsaw.

Ed raced power boats and sail boats in earlier years. He loved Western films and watching dirt track racing. Ed was a hard working, devoted family man.

He was predeceased by his wife, Edna “Chum” Sundt and his daughter-in-law, Diane Sundt.

Surviving are his children, Mark Sundt of Silver Springs, Dennese Clark of Hermitage and her close friend, Ang; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

At Ed’s request there will be no calling hours or services. Memorials may be made to the Gainesville Fire Department & Rescue Squad, 2 East St., Gainesville, NY 14066. Arrangements are being completed by Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw.
