Dorothy E. Stroud

February 1, 1928 - March 1, 2012

Age 84, of Division St., Pike, died March 1, 2012 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born February 1, 1928 in Rushford, NY, daughter of the late Charles and Marcia Lafferty Swain. Dorothy worked for many years at Champion Products in Perry prior to her retirement in 1994. She was an avid quilter and flower gardener and enjoyed playing bingo.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of over 64 years, Harry Stroud, who died on June 19, 2011.

Surviving are her sons, Daniel (Florence) Stroud of Silver Springs, Dennis (Georgiann) Stroud of Silver Springs, David (Eileen) Stroud of Pike, Dale Stroud of Tampa, FL, Greg (Sandy) Stroud of Pike; her daughters, Delores (Wayne) Hallopeter of Portageville, Glenda (Eddie) Bill of South Carolina, Charlene (Mark) Buckley of Wiscoy; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; her brother, Joe Swain of Houghton; her sister, Delores Thurber of Warsaw. She was the mother of the late Glenn Stroud.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 6 at 1 PM at Elmwood Cemetery, Telegraph Rd., Pike. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pike Rescue Squad, Pike, NY 14130. Arrangements are being completed by Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, Castile.
