Doris Irene Pinkney

January 3, 1923 - November 14, 2008

Age 85, of Green Cove Springs, FL, formerly of Alden, NY, died November 14, 2008. She was born January 3, 1923 in Norton, Hertfordshire, England, daughter of the late Sidney and Caroline Pettit. Mrs. Pinkney was a homemaker and had served in the British Army. She was a World War II bride and was accomplished at knitting for which she won many ribbons. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and will be remembered by her family as a great mom.She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Pinkney. Surviving are her children, Carol A. Kibler, Robert J. (Mary) Pinkney, John R. (Mary Ethel) Pinkney, Mark Pinkney and Kenneth J. Pinkney; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; nieces and cousins in England and extended family members in the United States. She is the sister of the late Margaret Jenkins and mother-in-law of the late Paul Kibler.

Friends may call Saturday 12 – 2 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile where prayers will be said Saturday at 2 PM. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile. Services were also held in Florida.
