Doreen E. Powers

October 7, 1957 - June 8, 2016

Age 58, of Dale, NY died June 8, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

She was born October 7, 1957 in Batavia, NY daughter of the late Harold and Delores Grice Schmidt. Doreen spent many years as a child care provider for many area children. She enjoyed walks with her dog, Gracie. Doreen was an avid auto racing fan. She loved watching NASCAR but most especially her son, Pat’s racing team in Batavia. She was also a Buffalo Bills fan. Doreen’s greatest joy however, was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Lawrence Powers whom she married on April 23, 1976; her children, Jolie (Tom Gilmore) Powers of Strykersville, Jessica (Randy) Greig of East Bethany, Patrick (Alicia) Powers of Dale; her grandchildren, Ryan, Bryton, Tommy, Karlyn, Caleb, Christopher, Anna, Aleah, Cierra, Addison, Chase and Calin; her siblings, Donald (Linda) Schmidt of East Bethany, Deborah Schmidt of East Bethany, Frederick (Cindy) Schmidt of East Aurora, Lisa (Bruce) Bernard of Pavilion; several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late George Reinhart.

Friends may call Sunday, June 12 from 4 – 7 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 13 at 11 AM at Mary Immaculate Parish, Immaculate Conception church site, East Bethany. Burial will be in West Middlebury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wyoming Hook & Ladder Company, Wyoming, NY 14591.
