Age 91, of Linwood Avenue, Warsaw, died August 2, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness.
He was born April 4, 1921 in Rochester, NY son of the late Thomas and Gertrude Wilczewski Brethen. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during World War II. Don was employed for many years as a production worker at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester prior to his retirement in 1980.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, L. Ruth Hoch Brethen whom he married on September 5, 1976; his son, Thomas (Mary) Walters of Deltona, FL; his daughter, Dona; his stepson, Tom Beardsley of Portageville; his step daughters, Kathleen Bannister of Gainesville, Kay (Tom) Sheehan of Warsaw, Carol (David) Marshall of Fillmore; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There are no calling hours. Services will be private. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Silver Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Warsaw Rescue Squad, PO Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569 or Mercy Flight, 100 Amherst Villa Rd., Buffalo, NY 14225-1432. Arrangements are being completed by Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw.
