Dolores Foster

February 15, 1932 - April 8, 2017

Age 85, of Warsaw, passed away on April 8, 2017 at the Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca.

She was born February 15, 1932 in Perry, NY daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Wielgoszynski Shonk. Dolores worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at the former Manor Oak Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. She was a long time member of St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw as well as the Altar & Rosary society of the church. Dolores was a member of the Legion of Mary and spent many years caring for and tending the altar at St. Michael’s Church. She had also been a member of the Women of the Moose in Warsaw.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl (James) Kociencki of Cheektowaga; her sons, Dennis Foster of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Foster of Warsaw, Steven (Darylene Polak) Foster of Cheektowaga; her sister, JoAnne (Ronald) Nourse of Rock Glen; her brothers, Joseph (Eloise) Shonk of Rochester, Victor “Butch” Shonk of Carrolton, TX; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday, April 17 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Dolores’ Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 18 at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Church, 171 N. Main St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
