Age 59, of Silver Lake, NY passed away peacefully on December 25, 2016 at The Crossroads House in Batavia.
She was born July 20, 1957 in Rochester, NY daughter of the late Dennis O’Brien and the late Lieselotta Meinenger Callaro. Denise worked in the restaurant and food business for many years. Several years ago she and her late husband, Kenneth relocated to Florida and North Carolina for health reasons. Even as they continued to battle with health issues, they enjoyed traveling, boating and being near the water. Denise was a kind and caring person who fought her final battle with dignity and grace.
Denise was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Carney who died on January 2, 2016; sister, Carol Salamone and brother, Harold O’Brien.
Surviving are her children, Melissa (Nick) Borokowski of Rochester, Kenny Carney of Rochester, Katrina (Randy) Arnold of Cortland; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Bob (Shari) O’Brien of Henrietta, Lorraine Akin of Warsaw, Deb O’Brien of Perry, Linda (Bob) McMurtry of Silver Lake, David O’Brien of Perry, Donald Callaro of Silver Springs, Steven (Tina) Callaro of Pike; mother-in-law, Ruth Sharp of Nevada, in-laws, Brenda (Ramona) Sharp of Rochester, Rick Carney of Nevada, Ron (Linda) Carney of Rochester; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, December 29, 2016 4 – 7 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile where Denise’s service will be held immediately following visitation at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, PO Box 403, Batavia, NY 14021 or American Cancer Society, 1120 Goodman St. S., Rochester, NY 14620.
