Clifford E. Stowe

September 12, 1953 - May 20, 2011

Age 57, of Wethersfield Rd., Silver Springs, died May 20, 2011 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born September 12, 1953 in Warsaw, son of the late Donald A. and Violet E. Campbell Stowe. Cliff was employed for 18 years with the Wyoming Transit System where he was the operations manager. Cliff was an active and dedicated member of the Silver Springs Fire Department for thirty five years. He was a past Assistant Chief and Secretary of the department. He was a past member and Secretary of the Silver Springs Rescue Squad and was a member of the Silver Springs Fire Police. Cliff received the Fireman of the Year award in 1986. Besides his dedication to the fire department, Cliff was dedicated to his family and always enjoyed spending time with those closest to him. He also enjoyed golfing with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Rebecca Flint Stowe whom he married July 7, 1973; his sisters, Theda Gerasimchik of Silver Springs, Cheryl “Cher” (Joe) Flint of Silver Springs; his in laws, Jim (Pat) Nearhood of Springville, Dave (Cindy) Flint of Warsaw; several special nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Hannah. He was the brother of the late Donald Carl Stowe; son in law of the late James and Jane Flint; brother in law of the late Steve Gerasimchik and Keith Flint.

Friends may call Monday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where a service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery, Wethersfield Springs. A Fireman’s Service will be held Monday at 6:45 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Silver Springs Fire Department or the Silver Springs Rescue Squad or the Gainesville Rescue Squad.
