Charles A. Whitenack, age 92, of Warsaw (formerly of Perry) died Sunday evening, March 14, 2010, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Nunda on February 9, 1918, the son of the late Jay and Mary (Minnie) Alexander Whitenack. Charlie grew up in Tuscarora and graduated from Nunda High School. During World War II he was a SSgt. in the Army serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. He worked for the former Eaton Funeral Home in Perry before becoming manager for several GLF/Agway farm stores including Mansfield, PA, Stamford, NY, Middleburg, NY, Arcade, NY, and Batavia, NY. After his retirement from Agway, he was a salesman for Gibney Monument Works in Perry.
Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and puttering in his yard. He also loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by an infant son in 1953.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Karen (Michael) Kennedy; granddaughters, Christine Kennedy (Phil Hamilton) and Colleen Kennedy (Joe Rivellino) of Warsaw; great-grandchildren, Savannah Till, Nicole Till, Justin Hamilton, Nathan Hamilton, and Katie Hamilton. Also surviving are: his sister Rozel Seymour of LaJolla, CA; nephews, Park Seymour of Reynoldsburg, OH, Peter Seymour of Delmar, CA and niece Alexandra of CA; sister-in-law, Dorthea Matson of Perry; nephew James Matson of Perry, and niece Judy Reddin, of Gilmer, TX; several great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loyal companion, his Boston Terrier, Bella.
Honoring his wishes, there will be no funeral service.

Karen, Chris, Colleen and families my prayers are with you, He lead a good life and an interesting one. Remember the good times and know he is in a better place and is looking down on you happy. I always look at it is you have an angel up there. It was always nice to see him coming in to have lunch with you and he always said hi and how are you. That was special.
