Age 74 of Varysburg, died February 10. 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 7, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio the son of the late Bernard and Dorothy Carnes Dembowski. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. Bernie worked for many years with the National Fuel Company prior to his retirement.
Bernie was a member of the Woodcarvers Association and he enjoyed building scale models of log homes carving out each piece by hand. He also enjoyed spending time fishing at his cottage on Black Lake with his dog, Cuddles.
Bernie was predeceased by a son Bryon Dembowski and his brother Charles Wayne Dembowski.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Andrews Dembowski whom he married in 1980; a son Bernie Dembowski of North Carolina, a daughter, Brenda Dembowski of North Carolina; two brothers, Darryl (Gloria) Dembowski of Hermitage, Terrylee (Brenda) Dembowski of Ohio, a sister Diane (Bhagwanji) Gosai of South Carolina, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made in Bernie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 of Varysburg Rescue Squad, Varysburg, NY.
