Barbara Ann Granger

December 28, 1936 - June 16, 2016

Age 79, of Silver Springs, NY, died June 16, 2016 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

She was born December 28, 1936 in Bennington, NY, daughter of the late Felix and Martha Szczepanski Klein. Barbara was employed for many years at the former Robeson Cutlery Company in Castile. In earlier years, she worked for the former Mallory Timers Company in Warsaw. Barbara was a gentle, quiet lady who enjoyed spending time with her family and with her friends at the Meadowview Apartments. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing all kinds of word puzzles. She loved writing letters and sending thoughtful cards to her family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Cynthia Granger of Gainesville, Sharon (Robert) Granger of Silver Springs, Sandra (Kenneth) Wallace of Castile, Rebecca (Ed) Rutherford of Varysburg, David (Lisa) Granger of Silver Springs, Pamela “Sue” (Mark) Slawson of Silver Springs, Michael (Amy) Granger of Gainesville, Kevin (Erica) Granger of Silver Springs, Linda (Brian) Granger of Gainesville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several siblings.

There are no calling hours. Barbara’s memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25 at 11 AM at the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church, 3415 Route 19 South, Warsaw. Private burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bennington. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Silver Springs Rescue Squad, PO Box 117, Silver Springs, NY 14550. Arrangements are being completed by Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw.
