Jan 18.10 from Ellen LaCroix:
To Nancy O'Neil,
Mrs. O'Neil, I hope you remember me as a friend to Audie when I was his guidance counselor at Letchworth and at BOCES. I have thought of him often through the years- always with a slight smile on my face. He prided himself on being an amateur "outlaw" but inside he was pure gold. I saw many good qualitites in him when he was growing up.
I also know he had a love for you which I hope is some small comfort in your loss. If
there was a line in the sand of Audie supporters, I'd like to be counted on being on his side!
I'm living in AZ now and only just heard of his death. I wish I could have been there in person but felt I had to write to you.
Thank you. Ellen LaCroix
