Mar 14.13 from Jackie Massie:
Dear Sampson family, I am so Sorry of your loss. The news of Austins death was just told to me yesterday. I had the great pleasure of meeting Austin for the first time through my son Joshua just before they deployed to Iraq the first time. He was such a pleasure to be around always had a smile on his face, was always cracking jokes he could put a smile everyone's face. Although Austin and Josh lost touch through reassignments he would speak of him often. Thank You Austin for serving our country you will be dearly missed by everyone's lives that you have touched.

Jan 21.13 from Paul & Jeanne Mest:
Much sympathy to the Sampsons and all of Austin's brothers & sisters. You have been in our prayers. We knew Austin when he was young and first in the area. Along with his brothers & sister, they spent some time with us as well as at our church, Folsomdale. We have fond memories of all the children and have always prayed for them, long after we lost touch. We knew Austin & Bobby had a good home and are thankful for all you did for them. It appears that Austin grew up to be a fine young man who will be dearly missed. Our daughter Amy is a teacher at Letchworth and recently learned that Mrs. Sampson was Austin's mother and they probably worked together. She sends her sympathy as well. All our children remember Austin and were very sorry to hear of his death. God bless you all.

Uncle Wes, Aunt Pam and my cousins Stephen, Sheryl, David and Bobby,
My heart grieves with you over the loss of Austin.
I can't help but smile when I think about the phone calls Id receive from Afghanistan....Austin would call and we'd chat about anything and everything. He knew I was alone for Christmas and took time out of his day to call me to wish me a Merry Christmas several years in a row....we talked about family, values, decisions he was facing and his struggles (he joked that I should send him the bill for therapy sessions!). Today, I celebrate Austin's life with you even from so far away. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. As our saying goes, "cousins forever we shall be, but friends by choice we are...!" Love you all,
Michelle (for Ameya & Myles too)

We may never know why God called Austin home to heaven so early, but we rest in the knowledge that Austin was one of God's children. I am praying that God gives the comfort and peace that only He can give to the family and friends of Austin. May God grant his blessing on all who are mourning.

I will never for get the times my family and I shared with Austin when he and my daughter dated in HS. He always put a smile on my face and was quick to give to welcome me with a hug or when he said goodbye. He will forever be missed and remain in our hearts. He certainly made the world in which we lived brighter. May God bless the families whose lives he touched. Hold unto the memories you have of him. He will live forever in your hearts. My family and I would also like you to know that we would be there, not only to say goodbye, but to support all of you if we could.
